The Escape

Mackenzie opened her eyes then and stared into the girls eyes, she noticed they were a golden brown in colour, really quite nice looking.

"I've never seen that before." She whispered, astonished as she looked around, noticing everyone's eyes were a different shade of gold.

"She's right," Alice said, "if anything, we'll protect you from your old coven. We don't believe in feeding on humans, which is why we came to stop you." She paused for a moment. "Maybe if you know our names, you'll better about telling us yours. I'm Alice. This is Jasper," she said motioning to him with her head, before doing the same to the other two as she spoke their names. "And Eva and Roman. You're safe."

"Yes, we really don't mean any harm," Eva said softly. "We have you outnumbered here. If we meant you any harm, we wouldn't need to trick you or anything. Can you just try and trust us a little?" She thought that that actually sounded pretty reasonable.

The newborn was talking and was calmer but he did not want to risk upsetting her unsettled mood and nodded as eva spoke, "yes your coven would not dare not come her" still sending her waves of smoothing calm

"Mackenzie." She replied, still speaking barely above a whisper.

This was all so new to her, the sounds, the smells. The way she could see every tiny follicle on a leaf, she had panicked when she first awoke and was no better now after everything she had been put through.

Jasper smiled, "Nice to meet you Maxkenzie" He offered her his hand and looked at Romand and Eva with a nod indicated it was ok to let her gol

After another moment, Roman slowly released her, though he was ready to latch back on if need be. He stood slowly, and helped Eva do the same, still somewhat keeping her behind him before glancing to her. "Are you alright?" he asked.

She waited until the beefy guy had taken his weight off of her, extending her hand to Jasper, pretending to take it, before turning and running off again.

The new born did not get far, Jasper reached out as she began to run and in one swift motion picked her up and threw her on the floor, bracing his foot on her stomache

" I dont want to hurt a lady but if you insist on running I will have to"

She lay back on the ground, defeated, not even trying to fight. She closed her eyes, willing herself to cry. What was the point? What was the point to anything anymore. And so she decided to let them do what they wanted with her, she didn't care now.

Eva looked over at Alice and Roman.
"How do we get her to trust us now?" she whispered. "She's so scared. I don't know what her old coven did to her."

Alice gasped, flinching slightly at the sight of Jasper throwing the newborn down. She wasn't sure she'd ever see him do that to anyone, let alone a woman, crazed newborn or not. Alice shrugged slightly, "She'll just have to learn that we won't hurt her. She's terrified that we're going to kill her. But, I think she's given up now."

"Well then...that means that we can start trying to make her trust us," Eva said. "I guess that we should start by feeding her. She's a newborn after all."

She let her mind wander as they discussed what to do, around her.

She let her thoughts slip back to a happier time, her human memories which had faded somewhat. She could remember her family, but when she tried to picture them, their faces were blurred. And then there was Adam, dear, sweet Adam. His face, she could still see clearly, his face was all she could hold onto.

Roman sniffed the air, and turned around, pointing in a direction deeper into the woods. "I smell a herd of deer," he said, "we could feed her there." He stepped closer to Jasper and the girl, and leaned down to help her up, keeping a hold of her this time. "Shall we?"

Jasper looked down at her and extended his hand again. In a smoothing tone he said, "Come with us. On my honour as a gentleman no on will hurt you.? He slowly lifeted her off the ground.

"alice...." asking her to come over

Alice looked to Jasper at the sound of her name, and immediately stepped over to him, looking at him questioningly. "Yes, love?" she asked, looking to him before glancing to the girl, frowning at her obvious pain.

Roman was gripping her arm quite tightly, but she didn't care, she didn't fight, she just followed were she was led.

She wasn't even bothered that they wanted her to feed on a deer.

Eva joined the other three and said, "I know that you're hungry. We'll go get you some blood so that you can see what animal blood is like. If you can learn to feed on animals, you might be able to go see your family again." She hoped that that would motivate her.

Jasper took Alices hand again while Roman took the girl. He wanted her close he knew it was only one newborn but he knew how dangerous and difficulth they could be and he wanted her by him at all times.

She hung her head as she was pulled along, the scent of the deer pricking at her senses, her head snapped up as her eyes starting searching for the prey.

It didn't smell great, but she could picture the warm blood bubbling just below the surface. The venom began pooling in her mouth and she started running, tugging at Roman to hurry up.

She was so thirsty.

Alice couldn't help but smile a little as he simply took her hand. She gave it a reassuring squeeze and kissed his cheek quickly before they were off, heading toward the herd of deer that promised to help soothe the burning in Mackenzie's throat.

As Mackenzie urged him to hurry by running faster, Roman followed, careful not to lose her. As they got closer, he held her tighter, urging her to stop. "Shhh," he whispered, "You'll scare them." He waited for the others before looking to them, waiting on a confirmation before running with Mackenzie.

The newborn was quick and Roman was being dragged along in her lust for blood. Jasper squeezed Alices hand glad that she was close by

Eva could keep up with the newborn and with Roman, and she whispered, "You have to be quieter, or you'll scare the deer away."
