Carlisle & Esme- Hunting

Esme grasped both his hands.

"Not as such dear - Edward is deeply concered about Anna - and her connection with Renesmee. But he is more so concerned with Nessie's condition and what it means. I tried to assure him that things were goig to be okay. The blood, it seemed to help. She certinally looked brighter after she finished." she told him, trying to make him see that things would work out They usually did.

"You know, I wish my love, that sometimes I had Edwards powers. I wish I could see into your mind, and not just into your beautiful heart. Talk to me. I don't like seeing your brow furrowed like that. You'll get wrinkles" she winked at him.[center]

He couldn't help laugh at her comment. He pulled her close to him, her head leaning against his stone chest. "Oh Esme," He sighed. "My dear, sweet Esme."

He didn't even know where to begin with his fears, something wasn't right and he couldn't work it out.

"Shhhhh... Shhh my love" she cooed as she ran her fingers down his forearms. "Take your time... Just talk to me".

She reached up and kissed him gently.

"Did you happen to pick up on the connection when Edward mentioned Nessie's nightmare of the cage?" He asked, as he pulled her tighter to him.

Esme shook her head. "Not as such no - Just that Edward was worried that Renesmee had seen this girl before - The fact that Rensemee knew her name - And actually spoke" she said to him.

"What are you thinking?"

"I have two theories. The first is that there is a connection between them, I'm hoping this is not the case. And the second is that Renesmee's powers are growing, again it is slightly worrying as she is so young, but she's a Cullen, she can cope with it." He sighed, shaking his head. "I just don't know, at all... Edward will look to me for answers and I can't give them." He hung his head. He felt like a failure. He ran his hand through Esme's hair, the touch of her soothing him as always.

Esme raised her hand and cupped his cheek gently. "You tell him just that. Come on Carlisle - How many half breeds can you name?" she said, pausing andthen answering for him. "Two.. Renesmee and Nahaul. And we no hardly anything about either. They are writing the rule book here. We have nothing to go from. I agree with you though about her powers. Both Edward and Bella have very strong and useful powers. So its not surprising that Nessie's could well be growing with her"

She sighed and rested her head back onto his chest again. "My darling - Perhaps the connection you speak of might have something to do with Nessies connection with Jacob. Now I know that Anna isn't a werewolf... But shape shifters fall into the same catagory if I'm not mistaken.... Perhaps with the imprint... Well... I suppose it's a long shot. But we are not exactly normal are wel. Perhaps it was fate that Anna was to find us today?"

"I just don't trust that this can be a good thing." He sighed, as he picked up the scent of a herd of dear nearby. "Let's hunt, my darling... Then we can talk some more."

"Yes, lets" she shot him another wink and a half smile before tossing her hair back. She loved it when they hunted together. They would take turns and watch each other. It was usually a very sensual experience.

She looked at him and took his hand and they silently took off into the thicket of trees towards the scent of the unsuspecting herd of deer. There were two large stags, three does and two young bucks. Perfect.

Carlisle and Esme came to a stop, just outside of the clearing, he took a step back from her, indicating that she had first pick.

He loved to watch her hunt, it was a very primitive time, but Esme performed the task with such grace and beauty, she never failed to take his breath away.

Carlisle always insisted that she go first. He was always such the gentleman. Esme nodded in thanks and very quickly, squftly and quietly took out one of the large stags. She was so precise, the rest of his herd near by only raised their heads in alarm when she had almost drained her prey.

Deer were not too smart. They might give a short chase, but they would probably only make it a hundred yards or so before the two of them had taken the rest out.

Esme looked up from the neck of her prey and growled gently to tell her mate that it was good for him to go. She lept to her feet, ready to take off with him after the herd.

Carlisle began chasing down the herd, with Esm clos behind, he pounced on the remaining stag and broke it's neck with a satisfying crack before the stag even knew what had hit him.

He knelt next to the animal and lowered his head to it, sinking his razor sharp teeth into it's carotid artery and drinking rapidly from it.

She drained one of the young bucks before standing aside to watch her mate finish his kill. She kicked the remainder of her meal from her lips.

Carlisle made hunting look so beautiful. Almost like some primal dance. He was so fast. The poor animals didnt stand a chance. Deer were easy prey and very easy to come by. They all enjoyed taking family hunting trips together to make their necessary hunts a little more fun. They would usually split up into couples and vanish for a week or so. It had been months since they had done that.

Carlisle straightened up and made sure his mouth was clean from the kill before walking over to Esme and wrapping his arms around her. "At least we are alone now, my darling."

Esme smiled, placing her arms around his waist.

"Yes dear, alone and quiet. But do you feel better after the hunt. Has it calmed your mind down a little?" she questioned, placing a chaste kiss to his adams apple and linking her fingers together around his back.

"I feel a little better," He replied. "Although it still pains me to not understand." He hated not knowing, afterall he was the go to guy.

He brought their linked hands to his lips and placed a gentle kiss to each of Esme's knuckles. "I could never get by without you, my darling."

"And I you my love. I could not get through any day without you by my side" Esme told him. "You cant be the superhero all the time. I know it pains you. But Edward will understand. You may have over two centuries on the rest of us, but you cant know it all. Its impossible" she told him.

She traced his jaw line with her finger and kissed him passionatly for a moment before gazing into his golden liquid eyes. He looked calm from his hunt. Her eyes gleamed back.

"You are so special"

"And so are you." Carlisle replied, picking her up an spinning around. He held her firmly in his arms and kissed her passionately. "I love you like the stars that shine."

He placed her back on her feet and pulled her to his chest, her head tucked into his neck and he kissed her hair.

Esme giggled as he spun her around and pulled her close. They loved to dance together.
"Even though the situation at home may not be the best. I wish we didnt have to go home right now" she whispered to him quietly. She sighed deeply and looked up at him, her eyes sparkling.

Carlisle smiled at her and kissed her head. "The sooner we go home and get everyong sorted out, the sooner we get our home back." He laughed, takin her by the hand an leading her slowly back toward the house.

esme nodded and together they ran back up to the house, satisfied from their hunt together.

The living room in the house was empty, but there was sounds coming from the kitchen. They entered to find Anna puttering around.
