Send Off

Eva ran out deep into the woods, making sure to avoid the new vampires. Obviously, they were having sex--anybody with nostrils could smell it--and she wasn't in the mood to become a voyeur today. Not even if Roman had gone a little inexplicably crazy and then gone off. No, not even then.
She was in the mood to find out what the fuck Freddy was doing though. He wasn't one anyone should leave unattended. Not now and not ever.
Perhaps the one positive thing that she smelled when she did smell Freddy was a lack of Mackenzie. At least he wasn't going to hurt the poor girl now.

Freddy strolled casually back from the town, looking and feeling just great, if he did say so himself. Life was definitely looking up for him now. He had a place for his son, and in a few days, he could ditch him and Mackenzie in a happy new home.
Yeah, life's definitely good, he thought. Or at least it had been going good until he smelled Evita coming toward him.
"So, pretty little bitch, what are you going to say now?" he asked.

"Only that there's been a little change of plans," Eva replied coolly. She didn't like his attitude. She never had. He was so sick in some ways. He didn't give a damn about people at all, and yet everyone loved him. She'd liked him when she'd first met him, but then he'd just gotten under her skin in a bad way, and now...the sight of him practically made her skin crawl.
"Anna and Jacob decided that Carlisle and Esme would make better parents than they would, and due to a series of very unfortunate events that are not Jacob's fault, Jacob got a half-vampire girl pregnant. Now she's going to have his baby, and Esme and Carlisle, who've always wanted a baby of their own and who would really make wonderful parents, are going to raise him. With your permission of course. Which you're going to give of course." She smiled sweetly as she said the last two sentences, and she knew that he'd go along with her plan. Freddy wasn't a fighting man.

Freddy just snorted as Eva tried to be threatening. What was up with her now? He thought that she'd mellowed some.
Well, you can't everything, he thought with an eye-roll.
"Fine. Just let me talk to Carlisle and Esme," he said with a shrug.
"Fair enough," Eva replied, mimicking his shrug. Freddy was sure that she'd done it on purpose, the mockingly exaggerated way she moved her shoulders.

"Then we'll go get them once they're done," Eva said. Then she turned on her heel and indicated that Freddy should follow her.
