Alice allowed Jasper to lead her upstairs, staying close to his side. Once they entered their bedroom, she closed the door behind them and moved towards the bed. She lay down on it, curling up as she wrapped her arms around herself, looking at Jasper with sad eyes.

"Is there something wrong with me, Jasper? First my parents didn't want me anymore..and now my brother," she said softly, closing her eyes as she pressed her face into the pillow she was hugging.

She hugged him tightly as he rested his chin on top of her head, kissing his chest softly. "I will never not be a part of your life. I love you, Jasper. You'll always be my husband no matter what. We'll never be apart," she murmured, "it would kill me to be away from you."

Jasper kissed the top of her head and held her close. He was finding it hard to cope with the pain that Alice was feeling, he could feel every worry, sadness and rejection. It pained him that he had played a part. He kept telling himself it was out of love but it did little to make him feel better.
