Renesmee awoke to find herslef curled up in her parents arms. She couldn't remember getting to the cottage. All she could rememebr were the gruesome pictures running through her mind. She touched her soft plump face to find it streaked with tears. She felt hot and weak. She had never felt like this before. She always felt strong.
She curled back into her father's cool skin, but even that did nothing to cool down her temperature.
She closed her eyes against the bright light pouring in through the window but that just bought the pictures back. she tried to remember details. She could remember it being dark, and she was trapped, some kind o f cage, like a caged animal. Then it changed to outside on a hill top, with other, huge creatures around her, like vicous animals, but they mingled with images of human faces torn and mutilated. She could hear howls of pain and cries of anger.
She couldnt bare anymore, she opened her eyes again and touched her hand to her mothers face to see if she could explain it.

Bella turned towards her daughter, feeling the beautiful girls hot fingers on her face. "Hey Baby... You...." she trailed off as Renesmee started to show her mother what she had seen. Bella gasped and looked towards Edward, horror in her eyes.

Renesmee in a cage, trapped behind thick, wrought iron bars. Tears streaming down her cheeks, her face a pale white. Her skin clammy. Fear in her eyes. Shaking.

Bella could hear the growls resenating from the creatures. Pure evil. They were not Vampires.

Then there were the bodies. Laying atop one another. Dead. Limbs torn off, eyes wide open, blood shot. Afraid. Like they'd seen their own bloody deaths.

Bella gabbed her daughter gently and took her back into her arms, holding her, rocking her. Venom stung in Bella's eyes. If she had the ability to cry, she would be in floods by now. The vibes of pain, and fear coming from her daughter was truely terrifying to see. To feel.

Bella's eyes shot to Edward. Narrowing slightly as she shielded both of them so she could speak to him alone for a moment.

Edward, you SAW this, you read her mind. I asked you. Why did you not tell me?" - She didn't speak aloud. She knew how much Renesmee hated to hear them quarrell, especially if it was regarding her. She is so afraid, what does this mean?

Renesmee could no longer ehar what was going on in the real world around her. She was completely submerged in her nightmare. She was not herself. She was someone else completely, in another place that she did not know.
She could feel the breeze around her and smell damp and mould and could hear a faint dripping sound. but above all else she could feel the fear. Pure immense fear mingled with pain all over her body.
She could sense movement around her, beyond the cold steel bars keeping her from escaping. a movement that sent a chill through her veins.

Edward cringed at the sight of the bloodbath, the inhumane carnage, the broken bodies. And why the hell would his baby girl be dreaming about this? This night terror could not possibly be the same as Alice’s sightings. If that were the case, then Alice would be trotting into the cottage now, to speak to he and Bella--if she saw such chaos.
Edward smoothed over the upheaval in his eyes and the contorted frown that he knew had tickled his face. Mustering a lopsided smirk, he cradled Renesmee again from the mattress and brushed his fingers over her chubby cheeks. He dried her tear streaks. “Hush little baby....” He began to sing to her until the sonnet was over, then ticked his eyes to Bella who was gawking at him--still, in fright.
He slowly shook his head. “My love.” He held Nessie tighter in one arm while gathering Bella in his other to mold her against him.
She wants to speak in private…
But what about their daughter?
Edward averted his eyes down to his darling baby and gave her a peaceful look. “It’s alright, sweetheart, it was only a bad dream.” He cooed to her, “You’re safe, and we’re going to protect you.”
He raised his eyes to Bella, “Don’t you worry.” He said to both of them.
He stood and laid Renesmee on the middle of the mattress and tucked her in then turned to Bella. He took her arm gently.

Renesmees dreams suddenly changed. Altogetehr completely chnaged. They were no longer of monsters and blood and carnage and being trapped. But of strange and wonderful creatures of all shapes and sizes that she had only ever seen in books. But like the dream they drifted between human and animal state. It seemed familiar to her, or to whoever she was in the dream. She could see rolling hills and a small farmhouse and a beautiful grey-blue sea.
Renesmee's heartrate began to calm. These were not things she had ever seen before, this was not her dream. This was someone elses dream. Definately a dream, not premonition, it felt like the past. And renesmee began to feel like an intruder in someone elses mind.
She started to pull away from this dfream but could still not wake completely. She still felt hot and cold all at the same time and weak. Like she needed to sleep for a long time, a very very long time.

Bella leaned into Edwards touch, exhalling gently. She hoped to God that everything was going to be okay. Hopefully these horrid, scary creatures were just a vision of a small childs nightmares. She could only hope.

Renesmee's breathing and heart rate had slowed and she looked far more at peace than she had just a short time before hand. Bella was relievied. But it still un-nerved her to know that her precious, beautiful little angel had demons like that in and around her head, making her fear. She loved the fact that their daughter was able to sleep. Sleep was so precious, and Bella didn't want anything to stop Renesmee from wanting her slumber.

She was able to tear herself gently away from her baby girl and into the waiting arms of her husband. Bella faced Edward and wrapped her arms rtightly around his waist, locking her fingers together at his back. Her head resting on his chest. She sighed. Feeling relaxed. His arms had such power over her.

"My sweetheart," he murmured.
Edward captured Bella in his arms and molded her against his chest. He kissed her forehead then ner nose, then her mouth.
When he finally moved his lips to the crown of her head, he asked gently, "I did see it. Heard the cries in her mind actually. But I didn't want to perturb you anymore than I needed to." Agnst and vexation irked him, causing his brow to fold. The corners of his mouth twitched upward, to alleviate her stress. His fingers smoothed her procelain skin.
"How can I help you to feel better? What is it you wanted to speak to me about...or was that it?"
Edward truly wished to take their child's nightmare as only that...but there was always significance to everything.

When his mouth met hers, Bella stepped up on her tip-toes to gently kiss him back. She opened her mouth and teased the edge of his lips with her tongue. Her hands tangled into his hair.

"I wish we could take it all away from her, she does not deserve to dream like that. Seeing her in pain, Edward, I cant handle it. I feel angry. Why should she suffer? Renesmee is nothing but goodness. There must be SOMETHING wrong." she whispered, her eyes locked onto his. One hand still in his copper hair, the other tracing the perfect line of his jaw.

She hated it also when Edward seemed confused and vexed. He knew so much of the world. Seen many things in his one hundred and ten years. Things he still would not discuss with her. Things he told her that he was not proud of. But seeing him trolling with his emotions she found so hard. She wanted to protect him too.

Bella's trepidation caused Edward nearly physical pain.
Gently, Edward stroked her cheek and kissed her slowly--to soothe her nerves...and because they both needed it.
He parted their lips and hugged her waist. "Don't fret my love...she will be fine. And I'll make sure of that." He deliberated as he rubbed her back tenderly.
"There is nothing wrong with the baby." His voice was heated with agony but he sustained it. "This shouldn’t be happening to a young child, but these things do grip their minds...when they've been through trauma...as she has."
He swallowed hard.
And pressed his mouth over her temple, hoping to placate her...

Renesmme woke and opened her eyes, watching her parents kissing. Most children would cringe but she enjoyed seeing how much her parents loved each other and their open affection. It made her feel warm inside and hope that one day she would feel that intensley about someone.
The nightmares of her sleep had very suddenly disappeared. SHe still didnt feel right though, like someone was shoving a burning hot poker inside her head and the heat was radiating from her. SHe had never before in her 7 months of life had a temperature. She was healthy. She couldnt be ill, surely. But then she was still half human. she would like to change that someday, she wasn't sure it was possible but she wanted to find out. She had many benefits of being human, like sleep, but at the moment that didn't seem much like a benefit, but she also had the negative effects, like nightmares, and apparently getting sick, and not being as strong as everyone else she was around except her Grandad Charlie and his friends.
She kicked off her blanket, she was far too hot to be covered up and started tugging at her cklothes, she needed to cool down, and drink, she was so thirsty.

Snuggled into her husbands chest, her fingers toying with the waistband of his trousers, Bella opned her mouth to speak with him, to tell him not to worry, that she was just being daft. But then she heard her daughter stirrting and kicking the covers off herself. She looked at Edward and they made their way over to her.

"Hey beauitful girl" she whispered. Bella sat beside her and touched her cheek gently. It was burning hot, and clammy.

"Edward" She guestured for him to feel too. "Do you think we should take her to Carlisle. I think she is sick. She also noted that Renesemee's usually flushed cheeks were pale. Not as pale as her parents but the pinkness had defentily faded.

"Shh.... keep still sweetie... Let me get you some water" - In the blink of an eye, Bella was back from the tiny kitchenette which Esme had thoughtfully installed in the cottage for Bella's human moments, and came back with a glass of cool water and a straw. She pressed it to her daughters lips.

"I know you're hot sweetie but we need to keep you covered up "

Renesmee knocked the water out of her mohters hands, soaking the duvet. She didnt want water.
she carried on rippping at her clothers, tearing them into shreds. she knew she was probably frightening her parents, but she didnt care anymore. She was still thirsty but the water tasted like rust and metal to her.
She moved her hand to her mothers cheek, probably more forcefully than she would normally have done, ot lert her mother know what she wanted, what she [i]needed

Bella spun around to look at her husband during her daughters little outburst. She knew Edward could hear Renesmee's thoughts, so knew what it was she wanted.

Because Renesmee didn't hunt as much as the rest of her family yet, there was always a stock of blood in the kitchen. But was it the blood of game or bear... or Edwards perfered Mountain Lion... Or was there something else.

Being half human, Renesmee was able to eat and drink human food without gagging, but deep down, when it came to her burning throat, blood would sate it better. Human food would help. But Blood... That was something else entireally.

Renesmee was not violent by nature. That was the human side of her. she hated the thought of any creature being hurt by anyone, never mind her own hands. But her vampire instincts tended to kick in when hungry. SHe had tasted human blood once before, when she had only just been born. She could remember it clearly even now. Her mother was still human and by natural instinct had taken Renesmee to her breast as soon as she ha been born. Renesmee had bit down.
It was that taste, that burst of energy she craved now, needed, even. She wasnt sure that anything else would do. She would never, could never kill a human, plus she was not venemous, so would not kill a human just by biting them. But she didnt have the energy to go out and get it herslef. And she was pretty sure her p[arents would not get it for her.

Bella's eyes widened when she realised what it was Renesemee required. A silent gasp escaped her lips and she looked to Edward. Bella hated, and almost could not deny her daughter anything... But this?

When Bella had been human and pregnant with Renesmee, human blood had helped her body and gave Renesmee all the nutrients she needed to carry on growing inside of her womb. Perhaps this was the case. When Renesmee was sick, perhaps a good dose of O-Neg was what she needed.

Bella knew for one that she would not be able to be there if Renesmee did take a drink. Bella had note tasted human blood since she had become a vampire. Although she was very strong and had not been tempted to attack a human, if she was handed free blood, buffet style.. She was worried that it might give her more of a taste for it.

She was after all, still a newborn.

Renesmee knew her mother could not get her what she needed, no matter how muich she wanted her to. So she looked towards her father, who would autiomatically know what she was thinking because of his talent for reading people's minds. Renesmee did not know if Carlisle still kept a stock of blood at the hosue for when he got unexpected patients and left overs from when her mother was pregnant. It would be the easiest and most painless way of getting human blood and no harm would be wrought doing it.
She prayed her father would say yes.
SHe knew through instinct that animal blood would not be enough to get her over this strange, apparently human ailment. It was like when humans were ill, normal food would not help them get better, they needed more, medicine, drugs, antibiotics, human blood was that to a vampire, and she was afterall, half vampire.

Edward watched Renesmee struggle in a matter of seconds. This was not normal behaviour for their baby. There was something more elusive--something very vital--a need that had to be met with Renesmee.
Immediately Edward leaned over Renesmee and held his palm to her forehead to listen, and read her thoughts.
But when he realized what she craved, he nearly jerked hsi hand back. Edward kept his hand to the hot, clammy skin that felt like their daughter had a cold sweat.
Edward swung his eyes up to Bella's, wondering if she understood that it was not mere animal, or mammal blood Nessie needed--it was human.
"Do you feel that?" He muttered to Bella quietly--like a flap of a butterfly wing.
Then he smiled softly to ease Nesse's distress. "Sweetherat...will you show daddy what it is you need?"
Then to Bella he murmured,
"Yes. Let's take her inside the home." He gestured his head toward the window--toward the mansion of the Cullen family.

Bella nodded slowly. She knew what it was that Renesmee thought she needed. What she wanted.

She hoped that perhaps Carlisle had some blood left over... Or perhaps he'd be able to get some from the hospital to tie them over till Renesmee was better, or her thirst was quenched. They could not deny her anything. Edward was just as bad as she was when it came to giving ito their childs every single need and want.

"Do you think it will help?" she asked as her mate as he scooped Renesmee up in his arms and they together, made their way to his parents house. Hoping that they would not be interuptting too much seeing as everyone else was out of the house too, leaving just Esme and Carlisle there alone.

Renesmee felt relief wash through her as she realised that they were going to go to her grandparents big house. Her grandfather - if you could call him that considering how young he looked, was a doctor, he would understand.

Edward held onto Bella's shoulders.
He moved one arm to take Renesmee from her. "Do you want me to take her?"
Edward felt peace loom over his nerves...and he hoped that Bella's distress was alleviated due to the benefit that Carlisle was a saint and could be trusted to advise them about Nessie.
Edward held Bella closer in one arm and dropped his mouth down to Renesmee to give her a soothing kiss on her forehead.

Bella nodded and smiled at Edward as he was willing to hand their daughter over to her. She gladly accepted her with open arms.

She held her shield over themfor a moment

I love you so much right now, thank you Edward she thought to him, she wished she was able to weep at that moment.

She headded out of the door in front of Edward, waiting for him before she took off, running into the woods to the main house.

She knew Carlisle would help, he would know what to do.

Renesmee fell back into her sleep and was suddenly thrown back into her nightmare. She was back in the cold cage, but this time she was not alone. There was something else in there with her. Then there was pain, she was being clawed at and thrown around like a ragdoll.
Then as suddenly as it started itn finished. There was just darkness, cold, hard and dark.

Edward held onto Bella's hand as if to stop her, but she ran ahead.
He was left with Renesmee.
He averted his eyes down to her. She was writhing, struggling from somehting unseen, unheard.
Then he swept his fingertips over her face, and said, "Nessie, wake up, its daddy,it's alright you're safe."
He peppered her face with kisses and held her in the strength of his arms and entered the home.

Renesmee knew her father would sort things out, make things right again. Make AJcob love only her again.
She smiled lightly as Edward stroked her arm and her mother cuddled her. Things would be right again, they would amke sure of that. She was going to make Anna wish she had never came to their home.
